Michael Drue Doss passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on January 6th, 2014 almost 49 years after he was born in the same Belmont Shores section of Long Beach, CA on January 27, 1965.

Many beautiful traits possessed in abundance by Michael will be missed by his adoring family and friends. He was the undisputed family patriarch and was always there for us to offer wise advice and direction. He was devoted to others, always putting other people first, and a fast friend to all who met him. Many colleagues and most clients became friends for life. He was very intelligent, funny, and knew how to have a good time and to share it with others. He loved golf, sailing, cooking, reading, travelling, and spending time with his family and friends.

Michael was an extremely hard working professional and a good provider for his family.
He excelled in the last 5 ½ years as a Field Agent for the Knights of Columbus where he helped hundreds of families and clients as well as colleagues as he mentored fellow agents. He was ranked the number one field agent in California in 2009 and qualified for the internationally prestigious Million Dollar Roundtable three times. He was a proud member of the Los Alamitos K of C Council 5568 at St. Hedwig's and devoted to the other K of C councils that he served in his career. He also became an active supporter of the local Special Olympics through the Knights of Columbus.

Before changing lives for the better with the K of C, Mike was CEO of his real estate and business consulting firm, MDoss, Inc., servicing the Seal Beach, Los Alamitos and Long Beach communities.

Mike also was a highly valued and essential employee for several years during the vast growth of the Callaway Golf Co. in Carlsbad. He made so many lifelong friends there nationwide while serving as their Key Accounts Sales Manager for high volume dealers of the famous Callaway brand.

After graduating from Harbor High School in Santa Cruz, Mike earned a golf scholarship to the University of Nevada Las Vegas where he majored in its renowned Hotel & Restaurant Management program.

Above everything, Michael was a devoted father and husband, a loyal son and brother, and a tremendous friend and will be missed terribly by all who knew him, his warm smile, his contagious laugh, and his generous heart.

Mike is survived by his loving wife, Lori Craven-Doss of Long Beach, his children, Ian and Nika Doss, both of Burke, VA, his step-children, Wyatt Staehling of Seal Beach and Heidi Staehling of Long Beach, his mother, Barbara Doss of Scotts Valley, CA, his brother Mark (Stacey) Doss of San Mateo, and sister Tracy Ann (Stanford) Platts of Laguna Beach, his nephew, Jack Doss, and niece, Jessie Doss, both of San Mateo. He also leaves behind numerous grieving friends with many happy and heartfelt memories of such a good man.

There will be a Funeral Mass service and with a reception on Saturday at 1:00 pm at St. Hedwig Catholic Church at 11845 Los Alamitos Blvd, Los Alamitos, CA. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests to please send donations in Michael's name to a charity service 501 (c) (3) organization that trains people with developmental disabilities for meaningful employment and independence. It was very close to Michael's heart as he served on a committee for their Center. It is the Lincoln Training Center at 2463 Loma Ave., South El Monte, CA 91733.
