Officer Ricardo "Ricky" Galvez, 29, was born in Los Angeles, CA on April 2, 1986 and passed away on November 18, 2015 in Downey, CA. Officer Galvez was employed as a Police Officer with the Downey Police Department for 5 years. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps and was given an Honorable Discharge. He was currently serving in the Marine Corps Reserves. Officer Galvez was deployed twice with the Marines during Operation Enduring Freedom.
He loved to run and was co-captain of the Downey Police Department's Baker to Las Vegas relay team, an annual run for law enforcement personnel.
Officer Galvez is survived by his mother, Margarita Galvez, his brother, Pedro Galvez and sisters, Sandra and Nancy Galvez.
