Dylan Richard Stump, 19, of Long Beach, went home to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ on April 16, 2017, as a result of injuries sustained from a tragic car accident. Dylan was born December 15, 1997, in Long Beach, the oldest son of Dan and Dana (Julian) Stump. He was a graduate of Long Beach Polytechnic High School where he was an avid volleyball player and sang in his high school choir. He was currently enrolled at California Baptist University majoring in Software Engineering. He was a part of the Male Chorale and Choral Union at CBU.
Dylan is survived by his parents, Dan and Dana, of Long Beach and his sisters, Kelly and Shelby. He also leaves his maternal grandparents, Bob and Pam Julian, of Memphis, Tennessee; and his paternal grandparents, Don and Eileen Stump of Medford, Oregon. He also leaves behind an aunt, Amanda Savage (Andy) of Memphis; uncles Steven Julian of Chicago, Illinois; Robert Stump (Jennifer) of Bellmawr, New Jersey; Greg Stump (Michele) of La Mirada; and Mark Stump (Joanne) of Plano, Texas; as well as numerous cousins and extended family.
Dylan will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. He was an extraordinary young man who always had a grin on his face and was quick with a hug or word of encouragement. He came to faith in Jesus Christ at the age of nine and never shied away from sharing his faith with friends. Dylan began singing as a young child and sang in his school choirs which led to him attending Cal Baptist on a vocal scholarship.
The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Brethren Church of Long Beach. Visitation will be beforehand at 10:00 a.m.
