Shelly Maria Jones was born November 8, 1973, at St Francis Hospital in Lynwood, CA. She was the firstborn of 2 daughters and Shannon Marie, born a year and a half later to Bob and Debbie Jones. Shelly was a fast learner, walking at 8 months old. We had to put a net over her crib or she would climb out at night. She was a tomboy, tough as nails, and couldn’t keep a t-shirt on her.
She attended several elementary schools from Arkansas to California. Shelly was always defending her sister. When she went to the principal office for beating up 4 boys who picked on Shannon, who were 2 grades ahead of her, the family got called in. When Shelly was in middle school in Downey she received a Letter from President Reagan since she was in the top 1% for her math skills.
Shelly attended high school at Warren and Columbus High School. She made friends with Angela Conlon, Lisa Convery, and Ericka and hung out with her cousins Amber and Jamie. Our family lived in Downey and attended Calvary Chapel Downey in 1979. Shelly worked at the Broadway Store in Stonewood, with many compliments on her style. Shelly loved working at Friso’s while in high school, delivering orders on roller skates.
Shelly met her first husband, Ron Terrell while in high school and it wasn’t long before they fell in love. Dylan Michael, Shelly’s firstborn was the center of their world. They were married for a few years.
Shelly was great friends with Ericka Conlon and she introduced Shelly to her 2nd husband Shawn Montes. She and Shawn brought two beautiful daughters into the world, Baylee Margaret Rose, and Hannah Katherine. The family moved from the Downey area to Hemet so Shelly could be close to her sister Shannon since they were best friends.
Shelly is survived by her 3 children, Dylan, Baylee, and Hannah, her parents, Bob and Geri Jones, nephew Jacob, Aunt, Beverly, Aunt, Nita, and cousins, Bryan Lee, Kelsey, Amber, Jamie, Cora, and Megan. Shelly will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
Condolences for the family may be sent through our website.
