Alicia Valdez, 55, a long time resident of Southern California, was born in Zacatecas, Mexico on April 20, 1952 and passed away in Commerce, California on September 12, 2007.
Alicia is survived by her loving family, husband Francisco Valdez of Commerce, California, daughters, Monica Valdez of Commerce, California, Patricia Garcia of Pico Rivera, California, son, Guillermo Valdez of Commerce, California, father, Jose M. Valdez of Zacatecas, Mexico, brothers, Aucencio Valdez of Commerce, California, Rafael Valdez of La Puente, California, Roberto Valdez, of Zacatecas, Mexico, sisters, Teresa Carlos of Alhambra, California, Guadalupe Valdez of Commerce, California, Bertha Valdez of Commerce, California, Marianna Banuelos of Maywood, California, Josephina Valdez of Zacatecas, Mexico. two Grandsons, and thirty-one Nieces and Nephews. Alicia is preceded in death by her mother, Guadalupe Valdez.
Alicia enjoyed working in her garden and loved her gardenias. One of her favorite past times was her weekly dinner gathering with her children and siblings. She especially enjoyed being around her two grandson's. Sebastian Jr. and Diego. She will greatly be missed by her family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 18, 2007 from 5-9:00pm at Risher Mortuary Chapel with a vigil service at 7:00pm also at the mortuary.
Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at 9:00am at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 1316 South Herbert Ave., Los Angeles, California. 90023 ' (323) 268-9502. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Montebello, California.
