Angela “Angie” Melendrez died Wednesday August 30, 2017 in Whittier California at age 56. She was born December 10, 1960 in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of Jesus and Frances Rojas.
Angie was united in marriage to Tony Melendrez Jr. on June 3, 1995. Angie grew up as a big eyed beautiful little baby and was nicknamed Tooty. She loved to sleep as a little girl falling asleep while eating, even falling asleep behind the couch. She grew up playing sports and especially loved softball and volleyball. As a teenager she loved drawing, painting, music and cosmetology. She started her career in the construction industry in 1985 as a clerk and with all her hard work and dedication she was promoted to Branch Manager which is one of her greatest accomplishments. She took immense pride in her work ethics and the friends she made through the 32 years working in the industry. She was the happiest creating memories with her family especially with her grandchildren. Angie loved a hearty laugh, watching her Raiders and Dodgers, barbequing with her family and dancing the night away with her husband.
Angie will be sadly missed by her parents Jesus and Frances Rojas. Her siblings Martha, David and Linda. Her husband Tony. Her daughters Danette and Evonne. Her son’s Joe and Jesse, her grandchildren Elijah, Zoe, Iain, Harley and Kara. She is also survived by her five Godchildren Tony, Joey, Bria, Jayden, Sabrina, and Carmen as well as Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews and Friends.
She is preceded in death by her older brother Rick and her brother-in-law Junior.
Visitation will be held from 5pm until 7pm on Sunday, September 10th at Risher Mortuary, 1316 W. Whittier Blvd, Montebello, CA 90640. Funeral Service at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 11:15 am at 7215 Newlin Ave, Whittier, CA 90602. Burial Service to proceed at 966 Potrero Grande Dr., Rosemead, CA 91770. Reception to follow Burial service at American Legion at 7642 Serapis Ave, Pico Rivera CA 90660.
