ANTHONY MENDEZ Profile Photo
Anthony Mendez, 69, was born on March 16, 1955, in Lynwood, California to Mario Ralph Symansky Mendez and Sara Phyliss Jimenez, and entered eternal rest on March 12, 2025, in Whittier, California.

Anthony desired to be remembered, first and foremost, for his love for his wife. Having just celebrated 42 years of marriage, Anthony’s last request was that everyone knew how much he loved Barbara, the most wonderful wife. Anthony was a family man. He silently gloated over his children, who for which he would spend all of his days providing and protecting. Most people knew Anthony as a tough, rigid, and rugged man. However, his loved ones knew him as a kind, selfless, humorous father. All of this was guided by Anthony’s love for his Lord, Jesus Christ. He spent his last days sharing the good news of the gospel to everyone in front of him. Anthony knew that everything he had was from the grace of God. He now sees God Face to face in eternity.

Beyond his family, Anthony’s legacy carries weight in the community. Known for his service, Anthony went above and beyond to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was never too tired, too busy, or too far to help if he was needed.

Anthony was a dedicated and passionate auto instructor. He spent over 32 years shaping the lives of countless students as a teacher in the automotive field. With an unwavering commitment to education, Anthony touched the hearts of many, sharing not only his vast knowledge of cars and mechanics but also his genuine care for the development and success of each student.

Anthony is survived by his loving family: Wife, Barbara Mendez of Whittier; Children, Christopher (Karina) Mendez of La Mirada, Catrina (Kalvin) Cruz of Whittier, and Cassie (Paul) Covello of Riverside; Grandkids, Kaleya, Zena, Lou, Sophia, and Malia.
