Antonieta Castaneda

Antonieta Castaneda, 65, was born in El Salvador on June 23, 1948 and passed away in Long Beach, Ca. on March 18, 2014. Antonieta was the caregiver for her mother for the past 12 years.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2014 from 4-9:00pm in the Risher Montebello Mortuary Chapel and Reception Center.
Antonieta is survived by her son, Diego Castaneda of Downey, her sister, Marina Munguia of Downey, her brother, Moises Castaneda of Hawaiian Gardens, her sisters, Ena Castaneda and Ana Largaespada, both of Downey. She leaves many nieces and nephews.

Her son Diego writes the following as a tribute to his mother:
As I look upon my life,
I wish that I will be,
As great a Parent to my Future children
as my mother was to me
She always knows what to say,
and what I need to hear
She always told me how it was,
so simple and so clear.
She thought me how to care and love
She thought me how to be a man
As mother and sons do,
we'd argue and we'd fight
But though the tears and drama
I love her with all my might.
She looked the same every day
I remember from when I'm young
A few lines and wrinkles there,
but still my beautiful mum.
She's always been so faithful,
she's always been so strong
and occasionally she's wrong
and we would teased her about it.
For I love you mum, you are my world
I thank you with all my heart
I don't know why you have to go
and why we have to part
But I trust God with all of my heart
He wanted you in heaven with Him
and soon we will meet again
Your prayers will always protect me
and my future family.
