Armando Garza Profile Photo
Armando Garza, 94, was born on December 12, 1923 in Mexico to Adan Garza and Amparo Gomez and entered into eternal rest on September 16, 2018 in Temple City, California.

Armando was greeted at Heaven's gate by his loving wife, Guadalupe Garza, who preceded him in death.

Armando was known by his children and close friends as “Chulo”. He came from a humble beginning, losing his parents at birth, he grew up in an orphanage. After 6th grade he was joined by his older brother Humberto. In his early teenage years he traveled to California to work in the fields and volunteered to be a Forestry Fire Fighter throughout the Western United States.

In 1946, Chulo met the love of his life, Guadalupe “Chula”, and they got married in 1950. He was a very successful supermarket manager in Mexico City, and later in life gave up his white collar job in order to provide for his family and became a Deburring Technician. His love for the United States was so that early in the 1960’s he immigrated here with his entire family. Chulo taught his children well. He was known as a disciplinarian, always making sure his children walked a “straight line”. He also taught them to be the best that they could be, never to give up when confronting tough situations. Chulo was a devoted Catholic and adored his patron saint “Our Lady of Guadalupe“. Chulo was and always be an example for his children and his extended family.

Chulo leaves behind his loving family: Son, Armando Garza, Jr. (Kathy) of Knoxville, Tennessee, Daughter, Lupe Marquez (Javier) of El Monte, California, Daughter, Amparo Becerra (Victor) El Monte, California, Son, Gabriel Garza (Patricia) of Montebello, California, Son, Louie Garza of El Monte, California, Son, Alex Garza (Debbie) of Junction City, Kansas, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as several other family members and friends who loved him and will miss him dearly.
