Barbara Jo Shoenberg

Barbara Jo Shoenberg, 83, was born on November 4, 1939, in Louisville, Kentucky to Rua-Ilma Brown. Barbara entered into eternal rest on April 11, 2023, in La Habra, California.
Barbara was a strong Christian who was very involved in her church and loved to help others. She grew up in Louisville, Kentucky, and moved to Southern California where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from California Baptist College. Her passion for helping others was carried out by working as a social worker. After marrying David, she left the workforce and continued to help others by raising her two kids and several foster children. Barbara was very artistic and enjoyed painting several of the pieces of art that hung on the walls of her home in Lakewood, California.
Later in life, her love for art continued, and she became an avid quilter and enjoyed showing love for others by making them personalized quilts. Barbara has 4 wonderful grandchildren who she deeply loved and who kept her young at heart even in her final days.
Barbara is survived by her loving family: Daughters, Nancy Shoenberg, and Dianna Johnson, Son, Steve (Shannon) Shoenberg, and Granddaughters, Shelby Shoenberg, Sadie Shoenberg, Brianna Estrada, and Arizona Estrada. Barbara will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Barbara was reunited at Heavens Gate with her loving husband, David Shoenberg.
