Carlos M. Melendez

Carlos M. Melendez, 68, was born in Sacramento, Ca. and passed away at his home in Montebello following a lengthy illness. He had resided in Montebello since 1967.
Mr. Melendez was previously employed with Conoco Phillips as a Lab Technician for 25 years. His hobby was visiting any casino, he loved traveling, especially going on road trips, his favorite music was Doo-wop and was very fond of classic cars and drove a 1956 Ford Pick Up truck.
He is predeceased by his wife Antonetta, and is survived by his sons, Steve and Paul of Montebello and David of Whittier. He also leaves his granddaughter, Sarah Melendez and his brothers, Luis and Edward Melendez of Lake Havasu City, Az., Victor Melendez of Pico Rivera and his sister, Gloria of Pleasanton.
Visitation services will be held on Monday, August 1, 2011 from 5:30-9:00pm in the Risher Mortuary Chapel, with a Prayer Service at 6:30pm. A procession from Risher Mortuary to Rose Hills Memorial Park will take place at 10:00am on Tuesday, August 2, 2011.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
