Carmen Garcia, 105, was born on August 16, 1908 in Mexico, and passed away on October 20, 2013 in Montebello.
Mrs. Garcia was a resident of Los Angeles for over 97 years. She was self- employed as a seamstress for over 40 years.
Carmen loved to crochet and enjoyed sewing beautiful special occasion gowns and other lovely items for her granddaughters. Her love of cooking made her known for her candied yams. A very talented person, she also played the organ and loved to play dominoes and go to the movies.
Carmen is survived by her loving daughter Mary Ceballos and son- in- law Joe Ceballos, four grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and ten great-great grandchildren (with two more on the way). Carmen was predeceased by her husband Mike Garcia in 1993.
A Visitarion will be held on Monday, October 28, 2013, from 9:00 -10:00 am in the Risher Montebello Mortuary Chapel, with a Prayer Service beginning at 10:15 am. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 966 Portrero Grande, Montebello.
