Carmen Bravo Pantoja Profile Photo
Carmen Bravo Pantoja of Montebello, CA, passed away of natural causes at Beverly Hospital on April 6, 2023, less than six months before her 100th birthday. Born September 13, 1923, to Francesco Bravo, a bricklayer, and Amanda Perez, a housewife. Carmen was raised with her brother Fidencio Bravo and grew up next door to her nieces Elda, Marina, Marla, and Mandy and her nephew, Philip in Southern California, and later had a career as a buyer for Sears from which she retired.

Carmen married Rudolph Vasques Pantoja in 1947, whom she later divorced. A devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and homemaker Grand-mère Carmen watched a century of changes go by as she provided and nurtured three generations of Bravos and Pantojas in her pool-side tropical paradise home in Montebello, CA. She brought her humor and sense of style with her as she traveled the Americas and enjoyed cruises with her daughter Rachel and best friend Vera Espinosa, as well as enjoyed living with her pets, especially her mini-poodle Daisy.

Carmen is survived by her daughter Rachel Bravo; nieces Elda Alatorre, Marina Zabala, Marla Smith, and Mandy League; her nephew Philip Bravo; granddaughter Christina Pantoja-Munoz; grandsons Mark Pantoja and Frank Bravo, Jr.; great-grandson Matthew Munoz; as well her niece and caretaker Celia Hart. She is predeceased by her sons David Jesus Pantoja and Frank Bravo, Sr.
