Mona Carol Faust, 81, entered into eternal rest on April 25, 2015. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 1:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Downey Chapel. Details on the service are below.
Mona Carol Faust was born in Arkansas on February 10, 1934 to to father Hughie "Jack" Prater, and mother Ona. Following completion of high school education, Carol received her Associate in Arts degree from Fullerton College. In 1974, she became board certified as a dental assistant. Later, she was hired to a full-time position with Los Angeles County Office of Education, in the budget department. There she provided several years of service, as well as being blessed with making many friends and acquaintances. Carol retired from LACOE in June, 1995. Two of the things she enjoyed most in life- besides her grandchildren- were Los Angeles Lakers basketball and her landscaped gardens and flowers at home. She enjoyed "tinkering" outside, especially tending her beautiful rose garden.
Carol is survived by her daughters Teresa Clark of Sun City, Arizona, Shelly Jacobson of Sun City, Arizona and Michelle (Ray) Christenson of Granger, Iowa. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Shane & Nathan Christenson, both of Granger, Iowa and her brother Stanley (Kathy) Prather of Colorado. She was preceded in death by father and mother, Jack and Ona Prater; as well as her daughter Jamie Bridget Faust.

The family will be at the First Baptist Church of Downey Chapel 1 hour prior to the Memorial Service.
