Catherine Ann Killeen
January 31, 1961 — March 8, 2015
Catherine Ann Killeen, "Cookie Fish,” 54, passed away March 8th, 2015. Cathy was born on January 31st, 1961 in Long Beach and was a resident there for 25 years. She moved to Seal Beach when she married Randy Ferguson on June 3rd, 1986.
Cathy worked in the Allied Trade Union as a Painter and Wall Paper Hanger for two years before her son Scott was born. In 1991 she started Cathy's house/carpet cleaning service, which she continued until she began working for her brother Mike in 1999. She worked as the office manager and bookkeeper for Mike Killeen Quality Roofing until 2008. Cathy went back to school in 2009 to pursue a degree in Culinary Arts from Orange Coast College where she obtained her Servsafe Certification. Since then she has worked at Big-Fish Bait and Tackle part time, and done small house cleaning and cooking jobs for friends and family.
As a 29-year resident of Seal Beach, she sprinkled bits of joy everywhere she went. She loved making people smile with her tasty treats like cinnamon rolls, congo squares, and snicker doodles. There's not a place she would go and not make a friend and touch someone’s heart. In her free time you could find her anywhere the sun was shining and salt was in the air with a surfboard under her arm or casting a line over her head. She was a giving and thoughtful friend to many.
Cathy is survived by her son, Scott Ferguson, her parents, Phil and Rosie Killeen, brothers, Mike Killeen, Jimmy Killeen, and Bobby Killeen, sisters-in-law Lori Killeen, Cecilia Killeen, Buffy Killeen, five nephews and one niece, in addition to her countless friends and fishing buddies.
