Charles Martin Neighbors

Charles Martin Neighbors, 77, was born on February 2, 1931 in Virden, Illinois, and passed away on January 2, 2009 in Whittier, California, where he had resided for 51 years.
Charles is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Neighbors of Whittier, daughter, Mary Katherine McKenrick of Brea, son, Christopher Michael Neighbors of Whittier, daughter, Deborah Ann Neighbors of La Habra, daughter, Lisa Diane Castro of Albuquerque, New Mexico, sister Betty Griffith of St. Joseph, Missouri, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Charles was the owner/operator of Crafty Cans for over twenty years, and a lifetime member of the VWF Post #9148 in La Mirada, California. He served in the United States Marine Corp. from 1948 to 1952 and was honorably discharged.
A Catholic Vigil and Mass will be held at St. Gregory the Great Church of Whittier, 13935 Telegraph Road, Whittier, California, 90604.The Vigil will be at 7:00 pm on Thursday, January 8, 2009, and the Mass will be at 10:00 am on Friday, January 9, 2009, with interment following at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 2161 So. Fullerton Road, Rowland Heights, California, 91748. Family and friends are invited to Mary McKenrick's home for a reception following the burial.
