With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of my beloved child, our sister, aunt, cousin & Godmother, Chrissandra Amor Del Rio who was taken from us too soon on November 24th, 2024 at the tender age of 46. She brought immeasurable joy and light into our lives with her kind heart, radiant smile, and boundless curiosity. At the young age of 13 Chrissandra was involved in a car accident that forever changed her life, leaving her a paraplegic. She fought to regain her strength & succeded by taking steps after a year of relearning & retraining her mind & body. Her resilience shined as she walked to the stage to get her high school diploma. Chrissandra continued on with her education gaining a Bachelor's degree from Cal State University, Dominguez Hills where she spent time working at the Women's Shelter. Most notably, preparing workshops for disabled women. Chrissandra then went on to earn her Masters from Concordia University in Forensic Mental Health. In her free time, Chrissandra enjoyed spending time with family whether it be playing video games with her Godson, Nathan, watching movies, making jokes or listening to music. Though her time with us was brief, the depth of love and happiness she shared will forever remain in our hearts.
Chrissandra is survived by her mother, Gloria; her siblings Ray, Alejandro & Michelle, Her Godson, Nathan & her nephew, Nico. Additionally, her memory lives on in the hearts of her aunts, uncles & cousin's.
A service celebrating Chrissandra’s precious life will be held at 2pm on Thursday, January 9th, 2024, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
