Clara Maria Sanchez, 67, best known as Gabby, was born on February 28, 1952 in Puebla, Mexico to Venustiano Bermudez and Irene Ramirez and entered into eternal rest on May 13, 2019 in Lynwood, California. Clara had 6 siblings, Alberto, Teresa, Guadalupe, Ana, Elizabeth, and Raul Bermudez.
On August 1971, Clara married her neighbor and love Jaime, together they had two beautiful children, Gabriela & Israel Sanchez. From those two children she gained a daughter in law Betty and a son in law Jose, she was blessed with 5 grandchildren, Gabriella Castro, Christian Castro, Amanda Sanchez, Devin Sanchez, Dylan Sanchez, and one great grandchild, Jacob Castro.
Clara worked as a secretary in the electronic and fashion industry for almost 45 years. She later retired from her office job to focus and take care of her grandchildren. “Abuela” as her family would call her, dedicated her life to build memories with her grandchildren, anyone that knew Clara, would know that she lived for her grandkids.
In 2003 Clara was diagnosed with breast cancer, however Clara was determined to fight it, and she did! Not once not twice, but Clara beat cancer 3 times! She was a strong and fearless warrior. When Clara wasn’t fighting cancer, or spending time with her family, she was being awarded the Courageous Citizen Award.
In 2008 Clara worked hard with the Los Angeles District Attorney to help bring down a con artist that was scamming elderly people out of thousands of dollars by promising them fake vacation trips, and lottery scams. Clara was the type of woman that set goals and was determined to accomplish them. Everyone that had the pleasure of personally knowing Clara can say that she was extremely passionate about everything she did.
“Abuela” enjoyed playing loteria and bingo with her friends from the Senior Complex, she loved traveling, road trips, and new adventures. Clara was very loved, giving, kind, and her strong personality impacted everyone that crossed her path. She never gave up, she fought until her last breath, leaving her family and friends a lesson of life, especially her children and grandchildren.
Clara will be dearly missed by family members and friends who loved her. While her body will no longer be with us, her memories and love will forever live in our hearts.
