Corine Catherine Holguin was born to Raymond and Esther Cisneros on November 25, 1946 in Los Angeles, California and entered into eternal rest on November 9, 2015 in Downey, California. She was 68 year old.
Some of Corine’s hobbies were:
Listening to her favorite music cd’s and tapes. She was very much a music lover and enjoyed all various types of music including Salsa, Jazz, Mariachi, Disco, R&B, 80’s, Oldies, Hip hop, Polynesian and Brazilian.
Going on long walks with her husband Gilbert and sometimes her best friend Lupe and her kids either around the block or to Liberty park.
Gardening and tending to her plants, especially her Fig and Plum trees which she was so proud of and would post on Facebook.
She absolutely loved to dance and would teach her daughter and grandkids some of her cha-cha steps.
She really enjoyed traveling. Some of her most memorable vacations were traveling with her husband Gilbert to Israel, Greece and Turkey. Those trips were very special to her and she was thankful for that. Also, a month long trip to Europe- England, France and Germany. Another one of her most favorite vacations she spoke of often was with her husband and 3 kids to Hawaii- Maui and Honolulu, as well as many other camping trips with her family to Sequioa and Yosemite.
Her favorite time of year was in the fall and winter, especially November because she would celebrate her birthday, her Wedding Anniversary and Thanksgiving with her family.
She loved spending Christmas with her family; making her homemade Tamales from her mother Esther’s recipe, in which it was a tradition to spend the day together as a family drinking Mexican hot chocolate and bread while spreading the leaves and making the chili. She also very much enjoyed Christmas shopping with her daughters and as well as decorating her house and Christmas tree.
Most of all she loved spending time with her family and best friend for many birthday celebrations, BBQs, going to Pechanga and Laughlin casino trips, Mother's & Father's day, Easter, her grandkid's graduations. She was so proud of her family.
Corine is survived by her loving husband Gilbert Holguin of Downey, her three children; Cathy Holguin (Scott) Cousimano of Downey, Sarah Holguin (Kevin) Kendall of Norwalk, son Zachary (Kim) Holguin of Bellflower and her 7 grandchildren; Aaron (Stacy) Shaffer of Buena Park, Jessica Shaffer of Norwalk, Dylan Holguin of Downey, Gia Cousimano of Downey, Zachary Holguin Jr. of Bellflower, Xavier Holguin of Bellflower and Aubrey Shaffer of Buena Park. She also leaves behind her father Raymond Negrete of Downey, brother Ray (Sylvia) Negrete of Buena Park, sister Esther Negrete of Bellflower, brother Genaro (Beth) Negrete of Florida and numerous nieces and nephews.
