Daniel E Caro, known as Danny to most, was born in Los Angeles, Ca on May 28, 1947. Danny passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack while recovering from hernia surgery on February 25, 2020 at Foothill Presbyterian Hospital in Glendora, Ca.
Danny grew up in Los Angeles. As a youngster he loved playing baseball in the streets and parks of Los Angeles. After graduating from Wilson High School, Danny proudly enlisted in the United States Army and honorably served as a gunner during the Vietnam War. Spending his tour(s) writing home to his girl, Danny returned home and married his longtime girlfriend Carmen “Fuentes” Caro.
Once married Danny and Carmen purchased their home in Alhambra, Ca.
Danny spent his career with the United States Postal Service. He retired after spending over 30 years with the service. Once retired Danny served as Commander at his local American Legion. Even after his stint as Commander, Danny always found the time to volunteer. He would say there was always something to do or help with. His greatest accomplishment and source of pride would have to be his children.
Danny is survived by his loving family: Children, Denise (Ed) Hano of San Gabriel, Ca., Cynthia (Myles) Kovacs of Sierra Madre, Ca., Daniel Edward Caro Jr. of West Virginia, Raymond Daniel Caro of Covina, Ca., 5 Grandchilden, Siblings, Sally Richards of La Puente, Ca., Margie Palmerin of Los Angeles, Ca., Raymond Caro of Baldwin Park, Ca., Patricia Macias of Los Angeles, Ca., his longtime companion Shirleen Cygon and other family and friends who will miss him dearly.
