Darlene Lavonne Sutorius

Darlene Sutorius, 79, was born to Henry J. and Mamie Scherner Small, on May 23, 1929 in Sioux City, Iowa, and passed away on May 29, 2008 in Snowflake, Arizona.
As a child she moved with her family to San Fernando Valley in California. There she went to school and married William Rath.
Some of Darlene's favorite things were to be a loving mother, gourmet cooking, arranging family gatherings and traveling, and to help provide for her family she worked for IBM Corporation for many years. Later in her life, she was remarried to Joseph Sutorius and lived happily till his death in 2003. She has lived in Arizona for one year, where she was cared for by her step-daughter Debra Van Derlee. Darlene is survived by son Bruce Rath, and step-daughters Debra van der Lee, Jo-ann Barnet, Barbara VanGinkel, Marjorie Stockwell, Suzan Hillhouse, Nancy Sutorius, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe Sutorius, her parents, and one daughter Gail Anderson.
Visitation will be from 9:30 am to 11:30 am on Friday, June 6, 2008 at Risher Mortuary Chapel in Montebello, California, with funeral services starting at 1:30 pm. Interment will follow at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, California.
