He started at Herrin Middle School in the Fall of 1994 teaching students computer technology. He loved working with the kids and started a Bible Study during lunch as long as it “student lead”. The group grew every year and a ministry began as he reached out to have an influence student’s lives on campus and also at First Christian Church Herrin in their Sport’s Ministry.
In 2005, David and Laurie met online. They met in person the week for Thanksgiving 2005 and it was love at first sight. They were married in Whittier in June 2006. David was able to get a teaching position in Compton, CA where he taught technology. Following a back injury, he was not able to continue teaching and came to work for MAP Property Management. He brought his expertise in Hotel Management as he helped to streamline our inspection process.
He was involved in several local clubs including Whittier YMCA Men’s Service Club and Lion’s Club of Whittier. He was active with the Whittier Chamber events, Charity Events with MSF Fitness Studio and playing golf at Friendly Hills Country Club with his father-in-law and step-son Cameron Gile.
