Dolores Orozco, 87, was born on September 14, 1930 in Los Angeles, California to Francisco Salas and Carmen Scorza Salas and entered into eternal rest on March 27, 2018 in Los Angeles, California. Dolores was a devoted Trunking Engineer Clerk for Pacific Telephone for 33 years.
Dolores enjoyed her education, with 12 years of perfect attendance. Dolores graduated Jefferson High School in Los Angeles, California in 1947, as the class Valedictorian and delivered the commencement speech. Dolores was also President of the Tennis Team and May Day Queen. Dolores was instilled with a strong work ethic, valued devotion to family and decorum. She was passionate about politics, social justice and volunteered for numerous local and national campaigns and as a precinct volunteer during major elections. Dolores was a member of the Telephone Company Pioneers for 33 years. The Happy Latins, a nonprofit group of 25 plus couples raised money to provide Hispanic children with college scholarships. Dolores sat as Secretary for the several years. Dolores enjoyed movies, listening to Perry Cuomo, Herb Miller and the Rat Pack. Dolores was quiet, sweet and had a big heart who enjoyed crewel needlework for its exact stitching and loved her extended family and friends.
Dolores was met at Heaven's gate by her loving husband of over 41 years, Ray Orozco and her siblings, Petra Quezada, Manuel Salas, and Cecelia Salas Jaramillo, who preceded her in death.
Dolores leaves behind her loving family: Daughter, Teresa Pollard (Robert) of Morgan Hill, California, Daughter, Laura Rae Orozco of Avalon, California, Sister, Frances Salas Camara of West Los Angeles, California, Nephew, Mario Camara (Nancy) of Playa Del Rey, California, Niece, Melinda Kivinski (Bill) of Northridge, California and Niece Carmen Morales of Rowland Heights, California, numerous great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews, as well as, several other family members and friends who loved her and will miss her deeply.
