Mr. Donald D. Metz, 71, was born on November 27, 1942, in Louisiana and passed away on December 16, 2013, in Anaheim, Ca.
Donald was a Contractor for over 40 years in the Heating and Air Conditioning Business. He was also in the United States Army where he received a Vietnam Service Medal, a National Defense Medal, and an Honorable Discharge for fighting bravely for our freedom.
Mr. Metz leaves behind his loving family: wife Claudia Metz of Rowland Heights, Ca., son James Mielke of Colorado, daughter Debbie Ellis of Rowland Heights, Ca., son Stephen Metz of Rowland Heights, Ca., son Daniel Metz of Rowland Heights, Ca., as well as five grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Darrel Metz of Chino, Ca., and sister, Beverly Miller of Shingletown, Ca.
"Don was a strong man with a kind heart. He was always there for anyone who needed help. A devoted family man who especially cherished his grandchildren and great-granddaughters. He was a father, brother, grandfather, and friend to those who had none. He had many life long friendships and a strong bond with those he served along with in Vietnam. He was hard working, honest, and committed to everything he did in life. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting , fishing, camping, skiing, hiking, and boating. He was a 'man's man'; someone you could look up to in life. He will be forever loved and missed by those who knew him."
Interment will be held on Friday, January 10, 2014 at 1:15 pm at Riverside National Cemetery. More information will follow, please check back for updates.
