Dorothy Marie Ferrante, 92, was born on May 18, 1925 in Los Angeles, California to Ted Knowland and Helen Sutherland and entered into eternal rest on April 21, 2018 in Pico Rivera, California.
Dorothy was a dedicated Book Keeper for the Better Business Bureau for over 10 years.
She led a very active life of service. She was a foster parent, a leader in cub scouts and girl scouts, PTA president, and held various offices in the Native Daughters of the Golden West. She loved music and played the piano in several bands. Dorothy and Carl loved to travel the world on guided tours, cruises and in their Winnebago. She had a great love for the outdoors and enjoyed camping and hiking with family and friends. She was a member of the Sierra Club, several breakfast clubs, and enjoyed the Wednesday and Friday Bingo groups. Dorothy enjoyed life and lived it to its fullest!
Dorothy leaves behind her loving family: Son, Michael Ferrante (Lisa) of West Covina, California, Daughter, Debra Gonzales (Jack) of Pico Rivera, California, Grandchildren, Shannon Amparan (Richard), Jamie Leyva (Carlos), Holly Mortimer (Dave), Carolina Tamayo (Hector), Ryan Ferrante (Stephanie), Kasen Gonzales and Michelle Ferrante. She is also survived by her Great Grandchildren, Xavier Lozoya (Evelyn), Maddy Gonzales, David Amparan, Gabby Leyva, Sage Amparan, Nick Leyva, Joseph Amparan, Christian Tamayo, Austin Mortimer, Olivia Mortimer and Ellie Mortimer and four Great Great Grandchildren, Delilah, Abby, Jessie and Nevaeh, as well as several other family members and friends who loved her and will miss her dearly. She was met at Heaven's Gate by her loving husband, Carl Ferrante.
