Edith Marie Higgins, 87, was born in Huntington Park, California on December 11, 1922, and passed away in Grants Pass, Oregon on March 28, 2010.
She is survived by her daughter Cheryll Goto of Montebello, California and also by a granddaughter.
Edith graduated form Huntington Park High School in 1941, On November 20, 1941 she married Floyd Higgins, who passed away in 1989. They moved to Merlin in 1987 from Hacienda Heights, California. She worked for the El Rancho Unified School District in California as the Cafeteria manager until her retirement in 1978. She was a member of Merlin Community Baptist Church.
Graveside service will be at 3:00 pm on Thursday, April 8, 2010 at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, California.
