Edward Gaytan Velasco, 96, was born on October 6, 1925, in Los Angeles, California to Jesus Romo Velasco and Carmen Lopez Gaytan, and entered into eternal rest on September 16, 2022, in Whittier, California.
Edward proudly served in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged for his faithful service to our great nation. Edward also dedicated over 31 years to being a master journeyman of refrigeration. He was recognized as a Master journeyman by the United States of America Navy and was even selected to work on a submarine.
Edward is survived by his loving family: Son- Edward Daniel Velasco (Pilar), Daughters- Connie Valdovinos (Arthur) and Maria Elena Velasco, Grandchildren- Andrew Velasco Valdovinos, Anne Velasco Valdovinos, Danielle E. Velasco (Manuel), Elias Flores (Jennifer), Jennifer Hernandez (Raphael), and Christopher Hernandez (Maria), Great Grandchildren- Roman Juarez, Viera Juarez, Joshua Sanchez, Pablo Flores (Andrea), Chloe Flores, Joey Flores, June Hernandez, Jason Hernandez, Mia Hernandez, and Katherine Hernandez, Siblings- Mary Gerardo and Manuel Velasco, along with other family and friends who will miss him dearly. Edward was greeted at Heaven's Gate by his wife, Eva Velasco, and his daughter, Martha Velasco.
