Elaine Kirchner, 93, was born in Detroit, Michigan and passed away on September 7, 2011 in Montebello following a brief illness. She had resided in Montebello for 70 years and was the Owner of the Montebello Travel Agency for 31 years.

Elaine is known as the "First Lady of Montebello," having served as the first woman City Council member and was named "Honorary Mayor" of Montebello. She has been President of the Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the YMCA Board of Managers, President of the Beverly Hospital Foundation, President of the So. Ca. Chapter of the Society of Travel Agents, Area Director of the American Society of Travel Agents, but she was most proud of her association with the Montebello Woman's Club and Soroptimist International of Montebello, where she served as President in 1966-67 and was a Past Director of the Pacific Region.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 16, 2011 from 5-9:00pm in the Risher Montebello Mortuary Chapel. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at 11:00am at the Quiet Cannon, 901 Via San Clemente, Montebello, with a reception following. A private interment will be held at Rose Hills Memorial Park later that day.

She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Allyn and is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Richard & Bonnie Kirchner of Diamond Bar, Jim & Kathy Kirchner of Duarte and George & Karen Kirchner of Modesto. She also leaves her grandchildren, Danielle Rae Labonty of Newport Beach, Michelle Elaine Kirchner of Los Angeles, Dennis Mark Kirchner of Duarte, Jeremy Lucas Kirchner of Laguna Niguel, Michael George Kirchner of Fairfield, Robert Allyn Kirchner of Manteca, Timothy Scott Kirchner of Washington D.C., Jeffrey Reid Kirchner of Riverbank and 10 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the "Elaine Kirchner Live Your Dream" scholarship in c/o of the Soroptimist Club of Montebello, the Montebello YMCA or the Beverly Hospital Foundation.
