Eldred "Mike" Samuel Stephens
May 20, 1929 — August 13, 2016
Eldred “Mike” Stephens was born to Dorothy and David Stephens on May 20, 1929 in Colliers, West Virginia and entered into eternal rest on August 13, 2016 in Downey, California. He was 87 years old.
Mike is survived by his two daughters: Karen and her husband Jeff Peach of Seal Beach, and Teri and her husband Curtis Cook of Apple Valley. He also leaves behind four grandchildren: Kevin Austin and Kimberly Austin, both from Texas, and Brenden Peach and Baylee Peach, both from Seal Beach. He is predeceased by his loving wife, Doris Stephens (12/27/1999).
Mike served his country honorably in the Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was stationed in Labrador. He was very proud of his country and usually had an American flag pin on him.
Mike loved everything sports, and because of that interest, he and Doris started a trophy business (Majestic Trophy & Awards) in 1974 in Downey. He retired slowly in the early 2000’s, but the store is still managed by family members. He was an avid fastpitch softball player and played or coached most of his adult life.
