Elizabeth Gomez Pacheco, 69, was born on February 17, 1955, in Echo Park, California to Jose Angel Gomez and Josefina Fernandez, and entered eternal rest on January 11, 2025, in Whittier, California.

Known to her family and friends as “Liz” or “Liki”, she graduated from Belmont High School and went on to attend Loyola Marymount University. Liz eventually obtained a master’s degree in education from La Verne University.

Liz devoted over 38 years of her life to teaching for the Los Angeles Unified School District and Montebello Unified School Districts. She was known for her unwavering commitment to education by inspiring and shaping the lives of countless students who to present day contacted her with success stories. Liz’s commitment to fostering a love of learning in all those she taught did not end in the classroom. She furthered her passion for mentoring children by starting programs such as school counseling, annual talent shows, and teaching at-risk students one-on-one.

Liz was especially known for her unwavering commitment to service to the Montebello community and others. She held memberships in service organizations such as The Rotary Club of Montebello, the Beverly Hospital Guild, and the Montebello Police K-9 Association. Liz also gave to numerous charities and St. Benedict School. Liz also participated in a nightly Rosary group for the past four years praying daily for her family, loved ones, and her community. Liz lived her life according to the Rotary motto, “service above self.” Her kindness and giving spirit impacted all who met her.
