Elvira Ruiz, 76, was born in Zacatecas, Mexico on June 26, 1935 and passed away in Montebello, Ca. on April 2, 2012. She was a loving mother and housewife who cherished her family.
Elvira arrived from Mexico in 1972 and began the American dream of living in the USA seeking a better life for her and her family. Her husband, Jesus Ruiz, had already been living here for several years and now the entire family was living together once again. Elvira never worked and dedicated her life to her husband and children. The only work experience she had was babysitting for family and close friends.
Elvira was a quiet person who didn't bother anyone. She was not one who could easily start a conversation but would answer a question when asked by someone else.
Elvira enjoyed watching her Spanish soap operas, also known as Novelas, so much that she repeated the episodes twice daily. She also enjoyed watching "The Price Is Right", even though she couldn't understand what was being said because she only spoke Spanish.
Elvira enjoyed the company of her family and adoring grandchildren. She enjoyed having her youngest grandchild, Justin, sit on her lap while he read to her from one of his favorite animal books. It was funny watching her nod her head as he read along to her because she didn't understand a word he said.
Elvira will be missed very much by her family and friends she leaves behind. She will be remembered with much love. Rest in peace until we meet again Elvira.
