Emilio Martinez, 93, was born on April 5, 1925 in Los Angeles, California to Emeterio Martinez and Louise Flores and went to be with his Heavenly father on May 6, 2018 in Monterey Park, California, while surrounded by his loving family.
Emilio was greeted at Heaven's gate by his beloved son, Victor Martinez, as well as his sisters, Aurora and Mary Louise, who preceded him in death.
With hard working hands and dedication, Emilio was a Surveyor for Los Angeles County for over 25 years. Emilio was also a veteran of the United States Army having served in Germany in World War II. Emilio earned an Honorable Discharge for his years bravely fighting for our freedom. Emilio was a dedicated family man who loved to spend his time sharing stories about his life. He was known for his infectious laugh and bright smile. He was a generous man who loved and embraced everyone he met. If you knew Emilio, you were family to him. He will be missed by all those who knew him and loved him.
Emilio leaves behind his loving family: Wife and best friend for over 57 years, Jovita Martinez, Daughter, Vibiana Gonzalez, Son, Martin Martinez, Daughter, Erlinda Morehead, Son, Philip Martinez, Daughter, Irene Villapania, loving grandchildren, Jessica, Shannon, Alyssa, Sabrina, Robert, Dillon, Quinn, Elizabeth and Joe, Sisters, Emily, Margaret, and Jessie, as well as several other family members and friends who loved him and will miss him dearly.
A dinner reception will be held immediately following the Funeral Mass for Emilio at the home of Irene Villapania.
