Emily S. Moya, 89, was born in Belen, New Mexico on January 27, 1923 and passed away in Laguna Hills on May 8, 2012.
Emily was a faithful woman, devoted to God and to her family. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church for many years. She was a member of Al-Anon for 40 years and started several groups at her church as well as sponsored many young women. Emily volunteered numerous hours at the Los Padrinos Boys Home and taught a Bible Study there. She helped her husband to start their lumber business, had a knack for making food delicious and raised and bred German Shepherds and Collies.
Her family adds this in honor of her on Mother's Day, "You have been the rock of our family, our anchor and example of what a strong godly woman can be. Mother's Day is so appropriate for your vigil service as that was your greatest role and ministry. You gave us our most important gift, that of our faith, which has served us all of our lives. We can just hear Our Father say to you, "Well done, good and faithful servant, come here into my arms."
She is predeceased by her husband, Daniel R. Moya and is survived by her children, Jeannette (LeRoy) Padilla of San Clemente, Yvonne Rowley of Albuquerque, NM, Randy Moya and Daniel Moya Jr, both of Albuquerque, NM, Cecilia Moya of North Hills, Michael Moya of Long Beach, Maria Hilbert of La Palma and predeceased by Diana Manley, Gerard Moya and Yvonne Moya. She also leaves 16 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and her brother, Zeke Saunders of Lake Elsinore.
