Ernestina E. Gomez, our beloved mother, nicknamed "Chrissy" by her son, departed her loving family on November 15, 2024.
Ernestina was born in San Ignacio, Camargo, Chihuahua, Mexico on March 4,1930 to Jose Lara Estrada and Ramona Gabaldon Estrada.
Ernestina was the mother to Norma Gomez Tintle and James Gomez. She raised her children in Echo Park in the Los Angeles area, and Montebello with her husband of 42 years, Marcelo Juarez Gomez. She has been widowed for 28 years.
As a seamstress in the garment industry of Los Angeles for 35 years, after retirement, she carried her seamstress skills over and was known in her neighborhood as "Senora Tailor." Ernestina's hobbies included taking care of her family, and the neighborhood elderly, and babysitting the neighborhood children.
She is survived by her children, Norma Gomez Tintle, James Gomez, her son-in-law, Bob Tintle, her grandchildren, Laura Ranney and Eric Tintle, her great-grandchildren, Jackson Ranney, Madison Ranney, Ezra Aceves, Levi Reyes, and Weston Tintle.
She is also survived by four sisters and one brother in Chihuahua, Mexico, and forty-one nieces and nephews in Anaheim, CA, Phoenix, AZ, and Mexico.
Ernestina loved her family and doted on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, making sure she always gave plenty of hugs and kisses and birthday and Christmas cards with a cash gift.
Services will be held at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal on December 20, 2024, at 9:00 AM.
