Eugene C. Kerr, 91, was born in Kansas City, Missouri on April 19, 1922 and passed away in Montebello, California on June 19, 2012. He was previously employed with Sears and Roebuck as a Truck Driver, and had been in the transportation industry for 40 years.
Eugene loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He was a very positive man who also loved to tease. He never missed an event or sports game of any of his grandchildren. His nickname was "5 yard Kerr," and he played football at Mt. Carmel High School. Eugene loved to dance, enjoyed going to buffets, was an immaculate record keeper, and volunteered his time in the Montebello Unifed School District. He was the care keeper of his neighborhood. He helped many families and was very gracious with everyone.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, June 22, 2012 from 9:30-10:30 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 16750 Colima Rd., Hacienda Hts., Ca. 91745. The Funeral service will be the same day at 11:00 am, also at the church. Interment will follow at Rose Hills Memorial Park.
He is survived by his son, Eugene C. (Susie) Kerr II, of Hacienda Hts, his grandsons, Bryan (Lisa) Kerr of Phoenix, Az. and Kelly (Nicole) Kerr of Fontana, and his grandaughters, Jodie (Steve) Hendricks of Niceville, Fl. and Becky (Gus) Zamora of So. Jordan, Ut. He also leaves 12 great grandchildren.
