Francisco (Frank) Limon Gonzales, age 104, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 7, 2009.

Frank was born in Yahualica, Jalisco, Mexico on November 16, 1904 and immigrated to Santa Ynez Valley at an early age. In his younger years, Frank worked for the De La Cuesta Ranch, the Hunt Dairy Ranch and the Quicksilver Mine before beginning a long tenure with Andersen's Split Pea Soup Restaurant in Buellton. He worked for Andersen's for 30 years, retiring in 1974.

His wife, Elizabeth Gonzales, one son, Arnold Gonzales, son-in-law, Joseph Vanlerberghe, daughter-in-law, Frances Gonzales and grandson, Andy Gonzales preceded Frank in death. He is survived by his daughter Helen and her husband, Raymond (Casey), with whom he lived with, Connie Vanlerberghe of Atascadero, and Raymond Gonzales and his wife, Martha of Santa Ynez, 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren also survive him.

Visitaion will be held from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Sunday, October 11, 2009, at Risher Mortuary Chapel in Montebello, California.

Family and friends may call on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Loper Funeral Chapel, 2465 Baseline Ave., Ballard, Ca. A mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 11:30 am at the Old Mission Santa Ines. Burial will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Ballard, Ca.
