Proto-Deacon George Grigoriev, Born June 01, 1925 in Sarajevo Bosnia, parent of George and Nadine, and grandfather of Alexander and Nicholas, has gone to be with the Lord and his many loved ones. He left this world on March 4, 2018 following a brief illness. Fr. George had been an active member of the parish at the Protection of the Holy Virgin Orthodox Church in Hollywood, California since it's inception, where he served first as it's Choir Director. He was later called to serve our Lord as a Deacon. Fr. George served with joy, he served dutifully with great heart and devotion. In his formative years as a boy, he was a student and Cadet at the most prestigious school outside of Russia. It was there that he learned loyalty, devotion, and to love God First in everything. Upon coming to the United States following WWII, he joined the Army where he served in Korea. After his honorable discharge from service in the U.S. Army, he married the love of his life, Anna Vdovkina and together with her raised their beautiful family. May his Memory be Eternal!

Fr. George is survived by his son, George (Sally) Grigoriev Jr. of San Diego, his grandsons, Nicholas and Alexander Grigoriev, both of San Diego and numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his loving wife Anna Grigoriev and his daughter Nadine Grigoriev.
