GERALD "JERRY" GLENN SHOPFNER was born on March 23, 1935 in Fort Smith, Arkansas and passed away in Huntington Beach, CA on July 23, 2012 following a lengthy illness. He served his country in the United States Army National Guard and was given an Honorable Discharge.

Jerry was a professor at Cerritos College for 30 years teaching Automotive Collision Repair and Refinishing. He was on the Board of Los Amigos Golf Club.
He loved being with his family and friends, playing golf, fishing, racing cars, sailing to Catalina, and discussing current events.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Joyce of Huntington Beach, his daughters, Laurie McFall of Upland, Michelle (Don) Newton of Rancho Santa Margarita, Nikki Lopez of Artesia and Kristy (Chris) Overturf of Huntington Beach. He also leaves eight grandsons, two granddaughters, four great grand daughters, his
sister-in-law Lajunta Shopfner of Downey and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws and an abundance of friends.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 3, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Faith Church of Norwalk, 11226 East Excelsior Drive, Norwalk 90650, with a dessert reception following. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cerritos College Retired Faculty Association Teacher Trac Scholarship OR Ed Bloomfield Scholarship (Philosophy) OR the American Cancer Society.
