Gilbert Navarro Levario, 78, was born in Los Angeles on December 5, 1933 and passed away in Pico Rivera on July 30, 2012. Gilbert could accomplish anything he set his mind to do. He started his own Mechanics shop business. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War as a Paratrooper and was given an Honorable Discharge. He traveled the country in his younger years. Gilbert continued his education and earned a Bachelors degree. He received a teaching credential and taught Machine Shop and Related Technology. He also taught Mathematics at Wilson High School in Los Angeles. He worked for the Los Angeles Times as a Machinist for several years as well.
His interests included fishing and boating, family, walking for exercise, dancing, teaching and reading. He devoted much of his time to his mother until she passed away at age 82. He was very helpful to others, especially when helping his nieces with their math homework.
Gilbert Levario is survived by his sisters, Stella and Gloria Contreras and their spouses Robert and Samuel Contreras, and several nieces and nephews.
Services are pending at this time and interment will be at Riverside National Cemetery where Gilbert will be given military honors.
