Guadalupe Josefa Prado, 94, was born on March 12, 1915 in Mexico, and passed away on May 9, 2009 in Montebello, California.
Guadalupe loved to travel and work in her rose garden. She was a devout Catholic and was a very active member of Saint Benedict Church in Montebello, California. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends and anyone who knew or worked with her. She was an excellent tamale and tortilla maker, advertureous, fun with a young sprint. A good friend of God's.
Guadalupe is survived by her loving brother, Joseph Martinez and his wife Violet. Her nieces Christina Miller, Paula Davis, Melayna Martinez and nephew Craig Martinez. She also leaves other nieces and nephews in Illinois and her best friend Esperanza Peredo.
Visitation will be from 4:00 am to 8:00 pm on Thursday, May 14, 2009 at Risher Mortuary Chapel in Montebello, California, with the vigil beginning at 6:30 pm.
Funeral mass will be at 10:30 am on Friday, May 15, 2009, at Saint Benedict Catholic Church in Montebello, California, with interment following at Resurrection Cemetery in Montebello, California.
Reception to follow the graveside at the Risher Reception Center 1328 Whittier Blvd.,Montebello, CA.
