Doctor Guillermo Fernando Gonzalez MD., 90, was born on May 30, 1919 in Monterrey, Mexico, and passed away on April 21, 2010 in McAllen, Texas.
He has been providing healthcare to the people of East Los Angeles, California from 1947 to 2000, as a staff physician on staff at Beverly Community Hospital in Montebello, Monterey Park Hospital, East Los Angeles Doctors Hospital and Lincoln Hospital in East Los Angeles.
Guillermo is survived by his loving sons,Dr. Alberto Gonzalez of Pharr, Texas,Dr. Henry Gonzalez of Upland, Eduardo Gonzalez of Downey, Louis Gonzalez of West Covina, Carlos Gonzalez of East Los Angeles,Joe Gonzalez of Bend, Oregon, daughter, Mercedes Gonzalez of Riverside, sister, Pilar Allzando of Monterrey, Mexico, twenty-three grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Thursday, April 29, 2010, at Risher Mortuary Chapel in Montebello, California, with the vigil beginning at 7:30 pm.
Funeral Mass will be at 9:00 am on Friday, April 30, 2010, at Saint Benedict's Catholic Church, 1022 Cleveland Ave., in Montebello, California, 90640, with interment following at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Rowland Heights, California.
