Harold R. Jojola was born on May 22, 1931 in Los Angeles California to
Felipe Jojola and Mariana Ruiz. His parents were both from New Mexico.
He was the fourth born of five children. He was raised in Lincoln Heights
and attended Wilson High School. He also attended Los Angeles Trade Tech
where he obtained the sheet metal and drafting skills that became part of
his lifelong work experience. He worked in sheet metal manufacturing in
various positions, from sales to draftsman to welder and retired
from the LAUSD as a Senior Metal Worker at 70 years old. He often said it was
the best job he had ever had. He also obtained his Real Estate License in the early
‘70’s and found the field interesting and educating.

In 1951 he married Aurora Sanchez and they had four children, Gloria, Nancy,
Susan and Ron. Harold and Aurora provided a loving home for their family. They
went out dancing often and loved Jazz Clubs. They also enjoyed entertaining their
wide circle of family and friends at home.
Sadly, Harold and Aurora ended their marriage in 1975.

The memories his children have are of Harold working in his Tool-filled garage, building
a go-cart, three-wheel bicycle and many other mechanical inventions, for the home he
loved and took great pride in. Harold loved Frank Sinatra, Jazz and Blues music.
He also loved sports. He was a big Ram fan throughout the 1960’s. He switched gears
and became a Raider fan in his later years. He was a huge Laker fan and cheered for USC.

He married Corrine Olague in 1976 and they moved to Pico Rivera, where he has lived
for the last 30 years. They spent their years together as parishioners of St Hilary’s
Catholic Church. During their marriage they travelled and Harold continued using his
mechanical skills, creating home improvement inventions for their home.
Corrine passed away from Alzheimer’s related conditions in 2012.

Harold was known in his family as “Mr. Wikipedia”, for his vast knowledge.
He would read the LA Times from the front to the last page on a daily basis.
On any given day, you could find him watching CNN, following the political news and
remaining completely up-to-date on world issues, until his passing.

He enjoyed spending the last few years close by his children and family. He was a true gentleman.

Harold is survived by his children, Gloria (Sal), Nancy (Carlos), Susan (Ernie) and Ron
(Concha), 9 Grandchildren, 10 Great-Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great-Granddaughter.
