Hortensia Anna Duran was born on May 26, 1930 in Los Angeles, California to Ramiro Martinez and Maria Estrada and entered into eternal rest on August 14, 2020 in Rancho Cucamonga, California at the age of 90.
Hortensia attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School in Los Angeles and went to Roosevelt High School in Los Angeles, California.
At 22 years old Hortensia started working at Standard Coil in City Terrace. She would work on little metal parts that go into the turner for the television. This is where she learned to solder, she was there for two years.
She went to Packard Bell in Santa Monica for two years and worked in an assembly line soldering attaching TV parts together.
After four years of experience in soldering she was hired right away by North America/Rockwell/Boeing/AutoNetics, due to her experience. She worked for the company for 40 years, she worked in the assembly line soldering. She was appointed lead supervisor and received many awards. Hortensia was able to meet the astronauts for whom she worked on the space capsule and space shuttle for. She worked on space capsules, space shuttle panels, bombers, jets, and multiple 474's.
After she sent all her kids through Catholic School, Hortensia and her husband Rene traveled the world including Russia, China, Amazon,Brazil, etc.
She leaves behind her loving family: Children: Carol (Husband Joe), Sandra (Husband Ted), Rene (Wife Margarita), Edwin (Wife Sandra), Hortensia was blessed to be a loving grandmother to 11 beautiful grandchildren and 13 beautiful great grandchildren, along with other family and friends who will love and miss her dearly.
Hortensia was met at Heavens Gate by her loving Husband, Rene Duran.
