Jessie V. Franquera

Jessie V. Franquera, 91, was born in Chihuahua, Mexico and passed away in Seal Beach, Ca. on July 20, 2011. She had resided in Seal Beach for 18 years, and was previously a resident of Montebello for 55 years.
Mrs. Franquera was owner of
A & J Liquors in Pico Rivera for 15 years. She was a very strong woman and worked with Edith Head at Paramount Studios. She was in costume design and was an excellent seamstress, one that never needed a pattern. Mrs. Franquera was an extra in several movies, one being Billy the Kid. She loved to dance and travel. Her favorite music group was The Gypsy Kings and her favorite solo singer was Ricky Martin.
Mrs. Franquera is survived by her daughter, Maria Luisa Sanz of Laguna Niguel, her son, Randall James Franquera of Hesperia, and her daughter, Linda Franquera of Seal Beach. She is also survived by her grandsons, Sean and Andre Sanz, Randall Franquera Jr., currently serving in the US Army, Aaron and Jacob Ricchio, her grandaughter, Christina Franquera, and her great grandaughter, Lucille Marie Franquera. She also leaves her brother, Martin Venegas of Los Angeles and her sister, Bertha Venegas of East Los Angeles.
Visitation services will be held on Monday, July 25, 2011 from 5-9:00pm in the Risher Montebello Mortuary Chapel, with a Catholic Vigil service at 7pm also in the Chapel. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at 9am at St. Benedict with interment following at Resurrection Cemetery.
