Joe Contreras was born to Daniel & Teresa Contreras on April 9, 1933 in Los Angeles, California. Joe was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and cherished the time he had with his family. Joe graduated from Lincoln High School in 1953. He was 82 years old, and was happily married for over 50 years. Prior to his retirement, Joe worked as a truck driver for 60 plus years and was a proud Teamster of local 208.
Joe is survived by his loving wife Gloria Contreras of Bell Gardens, daughter Feliz Contreras and son in law Jerry of Bell Gardens, son Joseph D. Contreras of Bell Gardens, daughter Martha Smith and son in law Ricky of San Bernadino. He also leaves behind his grandchildren: Courtney McCabe, Maureen Contreras, Daniel Contreras, Gabriel Contreras, Tanner Martinez, as well as his sister and brother in law Connie and Eddie Santa Cruz, and brother and sister in law Daniel Contreras Jr. and Mary Contreras. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents Daniel and Teresa, oldest sister Julia, and brother Fortunato (Tony).
