JOHN WILLIAM BEACH
(October 31, 1937 ' December 23, 2011).
John was born in Minitonas, Manitoba , Canada in 1937 to Ruth and Dan Biech. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 23, 2011.
He married the love of his life, Joyce, on April 6, 1968, and they
adopted two children, Jennifer at 3 days old, and Jason who was 4 years old.
His life was characterized by honesty, dependability and loyalty. He loved his family with a passion and was instrumental in their lives, both the children and the grandchildren. He had many good friends with whom he greatly enjoyed fishing, both here in California and in Canada where he and his wife spent each summer for the last 6 years. He loved his time there with his Canadian family. He was also active in
the Minitonas Baptist church and he and his wife cooked at the summer camp for one weekend every summer and did VBS for a week.
John was also active in his church, First Baptist Church of Downey, for all the 44 years he was a member. Over the years he served in many areas of responsibility ' from being on boards to singing in the choir.
He made life-long friends during these years that influenced his life, as he did theirs. John served his country in the United States Army in the Military Police from 1963-1967 and was given an Honorable Discharge. The Army will give him military honors at his Memorial service.
In his retirement from sales, he found pleasure in putzing around the house, building doll houses, and always fishing with his buddies. He loved to sit on the patio and just enjoy the quiet of the outdoors. He also loved to cook and was excellent at creating gourmet dinners with two other couples. It was a pleasure to his family to enjoy his creations.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 2:00 pm am at the First Baptist Church of Downey.
John is survived by his wife, Joyce, his son Jason, daughter Jennifer (Scott) and grandchildren Benjamin (14) and Katelyn (12). He also has extensive family in Canada, a sister, Cecile (Henry), nephews Tim, John and family, as well as other relatives.
