John Leonard Conklin

John Leonard Conklin, 96, was born on January 1, 1928, in California to Leonard Conklin and Naomi Manning. John entered into his eternal rest on February 10, 2024 in Monterey Park, California.
John proudly served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged for his faithful service to our great nation. John also dedicated many years of hard work while employed in construction. In addition to all his family roles, he was an active church member and trustee, beloved neighbor, faithful scoutmaster that camped and hiked miles and miles, was active in his Christian RV group, worked 40 years as a lather, and was a union member for 70+ years!
John is survived by his loving family: Wife: Ivy Conklin of Monterey Park, Children: Dara Johnson of Riverside, Douglas Conklin of Bremerton, Washington, and David Conklin of Houston, Texas, Sister: Wanda Pritchett (Richard) of Visalia, Grandchildren: Ryan Johnson, George Alamar, Danielle Guinn (Aaron), David Finley (Sarah), and Cortney Hancock, 6 great- grands, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his adopted brother Hemesias Ares, wife Norma, grandkids Titus and Rachel Ivy, and new great grand baby Ivy, named after her mom who is named after great grandma Ivy Conklin. John will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
John is predeceased by son, Duane Ronald; granddaughter, Riki; great-grandson, Donovan; and sisters Barbara, Helen, and Roberta
