John J. Conovaloff, 88, a native of Arizona was born on February 20, 1920 and passed away on May 17, 2008 in Sun City Arizona. He was one of the last remaining West Valley farmers in the Tolleson area. He graduated from Pendergast Elementary and Tolleson Union High Schools and attended Phoeniz College. He is survived by his wife, Ann, sister, Anna Varoninm four children, Andy, Elaine, Jack and Kathy Baghdanov, four grandchildren. His only brothers Dan and Pete died before him. Before farming full time, John was a pilot and set height record for a towed glider. During World War II, he worked at McDonald Douglas in Santa Monica, California, as the night supervisor, and was in charge of repairs for President F.D. Roosevelt's plane (now called Air Force One). He also served duty as a conscientious objector at Fort Huachua, near Tucson, Arizona.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 30, 2008, at 1:00 pm from Russian Molokan Cemetery Chapel, Los Angeles, California.
