John Arthur Leon, 73, was born on November 29, 1943 in Los Angeles, California to Victor Leon and Ramona Esquivel and entered into eternal rest on March 31, 2017 in Montebello, California.
John was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp and earned an Honorable Discharge for his years of bravely fighting for our freedom. He spent 42 years as a talented, professional photographer which was not only his career but his passion in life. He captured countless memories from photographing weddings of family and dear friends, sporting events for Jr All American Football in Rowland Heights and Bishop Amat Memorial High School in La Puente, graduations at Concorde University and numerous family gatherings. John was also a member of the Whittier Art Gallery for several years where he displayed many of his photographs in art shows for the community. He was a member of the Teufel Hunden Detachment MCL where he photographed events and devoted his time and dedication to the League. Throughout his life long career he has left a lasting memory into the hearts of everyone who knew him.
John is survived by his loving family: Wife, Evelyn Leon of Montebello, California, Son, Christopher Leon of Queen Creek, Arizona, Daughter, Julia Leon of Fontana, California, Sister, Sally Uruchurtu of Rowland Heights, California, Granddaughter, Monique Leon of Queen Creek, Arizona, Granddaughter, Miranda Leon of Queen Creek, Arizona, Grandson, Jeremy Leon of Fontana, California, and Granddaughter, Victoria Brown of Fontana, California.
