Joseph Anthony Bakonis, 92, passed away in Norwalk,CA on December 17, 2010. He was born in Pittsburg,PA on September 16, 1918. Mr. Bakonis served his country in the U.S. Army prior to WWII and during WWII. He was an Estimator in the commercial painting industry for 40 years. He was a member of the local Painter's Union. He loved to golf.
Mr. Bakonis will be interred in the Northside Catholic Cemetery in Pittsburg, PA following his funeral services there.
He is survived by his loving wife, Elsie Bakonis of Downey, his son, Gary Bakonis of Downey and his daughter, Karen Gjerde of Elk Grove, Ca. He also leaves 2 grandsons and his sister, Stella Morgan of Munhall, PA.
